Hello Everybody
Here is Shell's tutorial #5
Quite a few asked for the ssc so I thought you might like to make your own.
First of all your shopping list for this tut is as follows :-
1 background that's been seamless tiled 150x150
(If you don't know how to work out the scroll starts and distances I would suggest you use a tile this size)
1 Main image
some cut out parts of the main image
I have 1 seahorse gif but I resized and mirrored so I now have 3
I also cut out part of the sea weed for the bottom corner
I used the lassoo tool in PSP for the cut outs.
OK let's go and remember to save your work often.
1. Insert a background, colour to be complementary to your colour scheme.
2. Insert a positioned container all edges set to 0
3. Insert background ~ your seamless tile NO scrolling
4. Insert a positioned container and let it nest DONT pull it over. Position and width should be Horizontal Left 0 specified size 105. Top and Bottom edges 0. (MAKE A NOTE OF THIS CONTAINER YOU WILL NEED IT FOR COPY AND PASTE LATER)
5. Insert a positioned scroll (seahorse#1 gif) layout vertical up leave the scroll speed and position as they are. Advanced options, space between 100.
6. Insert a positioned container and let it nest DONT pull it over. Position and width should be horizontal left 5 specified size 50. Top and bottom edges 5
7. Insert background (Seamless tile) scroll direction left speed as it is, horizontal spacing 150, horizontal start 50 set transparancy to 30
8. Insert positioned container and pull out so it's level with the one above it. Position and width should be horizontal left 55 specified size 50 top and bottom edges 5.
9. Insert background (seamless tile) scroll direction right, speed as it is, horizontal spacing 150, horizontal start -150 (minus 150). Set transparancy to 30.
10. Now go back to the 2nd positioned container and highlight it then copy. Highlight the last background and then paste in the new container. Pull it over so it sits just out from the one above it (check it's level with the one in step 4). Change all the position containers to right instead of left. Also change the direction the backgrounds are scrolling ie if they are going right change them to left.
At this point I also changed the positioned scroll to seahorse #2 gif but left the scroll direction the same.
11. Make sure the last background is highlighted and insert a frame. Groove 5 colour complimentary to your colour scheme. Now pull the frame out so it sits just out from the container above it (to the same position as the container in step 4).
This is where you should save your ssc in case of a nasty power surge, or scrippy deciding it doesn't want to play anymore lol. The next section is for the main graphic.
12. Insert a positioned container and pull it ALL THE WAY OVER to the left. Position and width should be Horizontal centre 0 same as largest contained image for size. Vertical position and height top 10 same as largest contained image for size.
13. Insert positioned image. Choose your main graphic. leave all settings as they are.
The next part is putting in the small scrolling seahorses so the speeds and spaces between are of your choosing have a play with them and see what you like best.
14. Insert background (seahorse #3gif the smallest one) scroll direction up + left leave the speed as it is. Make sure that layer with other objects is checked. Horizontal spacing 450 horizontal start 0. Vertical spacing 450 vertical start 0
15. Insert background (seahorse#3gif) scroll direction down+left leave the speed as it is. Check layer with other objects. Horizontal spacing 450 horizontal start 100 Vertical spacing 450 vertical start 0.
16. Insert positioned scroll (seahorse#3gif) scroll direction vertical up leave the speed as it is. Position from Left 20 advanced options space between 400 starting position -350 (minus350).
17. Insert background (seahorse#3gif) scroll direction down+right leave the speed as it is check layer with other objects, horizontal spacing 450 horizontal start 0, vertical spacing 450 vertical start 200.
18. Insert positioned scroll (seahorse#3gif) scroll direction vertical up leave the speed as it is. Position from right 20, advanced options space between 400 start position 0.
This next bit is where your's will vary from mine (unless you use the same image and exactly the same cut out which is unlikely as you will want to make your own. So line up the positioned image over the section that you cut it from, so it matches up and you cant see it's there.
19. Insert positioned image (seaweed gif) mine is at the right and bottom distances 2.
20. Insert frame. (I copied and pasted in the same frame I used earlier lol).
21. Insert Positioned container and pull it all the way over to the left. Set left and right edges to 130. Top edge to 390 (assuming your main image was 369 high) bottom edge 20.
22. Insert frame (again I copied and pasted in the same one I used before)
23. Insert message area margins set at left and right 150 top 400 bottom 30. scroll bar colours, check override default and set the base colour to the same as your complimentary colour.
Insert ticker, loading message and sound, and you are done.
Hopefully you don't have any headaches and you like your new stationary. Thanks very much for trying this tutorial.
